Human library
I read a book recently
To describe it "interesting"
would be an unforgivable underestimation;
dull of me
and ignorant
When quite au contraire I wish to show my intellect,
I want it to be known that I am educated
I want to show my appreciation to the Writer
But despite all my years of schooling
I lack words at this moment
I read a book recently
I was spellbound.
Briefly mesmerized.
I was moved like I haven't been moved in a small eternity
And everything around me feels so clear again
Everything around me is a constant reminder
of the inescapable, indesputable fact or law of nature:
that I am alive and intact,
connected and surrounded
and not bombarded and lowered
But instead
lulled
soothed
I'm forever grateful for good books
and my ability to read
To describe it "interesting"
would be an unforgivable underestimation;
dull of me
and ignorant
When quite au contraire I wish to show my intellect,
I want it to be known that I am educated
I want to show my appreciation to the Writer
But despite all my years of schooling
I lack words at this moment
I read a book recently
I was spellbound.
Briefly mesmerized.
I was moved like I haven't been moved in a small eternity
And everything around me feels so clear again
Everything around me is a constant reminder
of the inescapable, indesputable fact or law of nature:
that I am alive and intact,
connected and surrounded
and not bombarded and lowered
But instead
lulled
soothed
I'm forever grateful for good books
and my ability to read
